 The Woll Golf Club was delighted to announce the winner of the first Ladies Championship here at the Woll Golf Course. Mary Turnbull won the Championship becoming the first Lady Champion, a historic achievement and exciting for the club with its flourishing ladies section. Mary won against a worthy opponent Brenda McWhinnie and was presented with the new 'McWhinnie Trophy in the Clubhouse by Nicholas Brown on Behalf of the Club. (picture to follow)
The Club Championship saw a good entry this year and a number of new competitiors qualifying for the finals. The line up for the final day was as follows: Championship I Campbell Vs D Miller - Winner Ian Campbell
B Class P Robinson Vs J Easdon - Winner Peter Robinson C CLass J Geoghegan Vs S bell - Winner John Geoghegan There were three very worthy winners and a new Club Champion with Ian Campbell Seeing off the competiton to win the Championship for the first time.
