The course set in the scenic Leithen valley is relatively flat and has the River Leithen running along 4 of its holes along with several small burns that meander their way through the rest of the course. The 3rd hole a par 4 of 475 yards is regarded as one of the best in the borders. The small clubhouse has a comfortable lounge and bar with catering arranged through the club secretary during the summer months. Booking is advisable at weekends
The course is only a short drive from the town Centre and is only 30 minutes drive from New Woll Estate and Ashkirk and 50 minutes drive from Jedburgh.
The area offers many other activities for visitors such as fishing, hill walking and mountain biking to name a few. Not far from Traquair House the oldest inhabited Scottish castle and formerly owned by the Kings of Scotland. Guests in the past have included Mary Queen of Scots in 1566 and Prince Charles Edward Stuart in 1745. Traquair House even boasts one of Scotland’s oldest Breweries.
